Synopsis "Bjarni's Saga: A Saga of North America (in English)"
A tale of a young Viking's adventures in 11th Century North America. Bjarni's father and mother wrenched Bjarni from his only home and his girl to return to Greenland. What started as a voyage with his family to Greenland from Markland in the New World turned into an epic struggle. A violent storm threw the ship he was in far to the North into an unknown sea we know as the Arctic. In the storm, fifteen-year-old Bjarni lost his parents to the storm leaving him with the captain, a remnant of a crew and a badly damaged ship. The saga tells of Bjarni's struggle to get back to Markland and to his love. During his travels, he must help the captain overcome mutinous crewmen, dangers in a strange land, natural disasters, injuries, and shipwrecks in his efforts to return to Markland. Finally, he must leave the captain and mate and travel on his own through this unknown and dangerous land. During his travels, he meets many tribes both friendly and unfriendly. His struggles change him from a boy into a self-reliant young man able to meet and overcome all obstacles in his path. In his travels, he meets a person who changes his life forever.
