Synopsis "Betraying the Highwayman (in English)"
When Miss Elenore Ogglesby ran away from her guardian, the Duke of Kerrington, she had one goal in mind---sail to America. It didn't take her long, however, to realize how foolish her impulsive decision would be. There was no way a single, unchaperoned lady could sail to America without raising suspicion. So, when she is presented with the opportunity to disguise herself as a nun in order to obtain her freedom, she can't refuse. But, it seems as though fate is destined to intervene. Disguised as a nun, Elenore gets whisked away by a highwayman, who almost runs her off the road in the dark of night. Unwilling to divulge her true identity, she continues her farce as Sister Genevieve. The unlikely encounter leaves Elenore with only one option, strike a deal with the mysterious highwayman. It doesn't take her long to question her decision, when she is stuck caring for the obnoxious and demanding Lord Brattondale. Then she starts doubting the highwayman himself, when she finds out that he has a secret all his own. A double deception. When Elenore discovers the highwayman's secret, she is pulled into an even grander scheme. While she struggles to keep her own identity a secret, she finds herself falling in love with the mysterious man. But will that love be enough to give her the courage to reveal her true identity and risk her dreams of freedom in America?
