Synopsis "Below a Tree...: A Book of Rhyme (in English)"

What could be worse Than a book without verse? & What's more absurd Than a non-rhyming word? Welcome to my second book of rhyme. Hands up those of you who don't consider rhyme to be poetry. Hmmm - better not be you. I like poetry, but in my mind poetry is all about rhyme. If you can describe something special in a way that is pleasing to read - that's poetry. If you can do the same thing in rhyme - that's even better. This means there are times that I miss out - I may have a couple of great lines, but can't bind them together with a good rhyme. And so, the lines are forgotten. What you have here are the lines that did come together. If you read my first book of rhyme entitled "Little Book of Rhyme.... And Reason" you will know that I grouped my rhymes together under four headings: Love, Life, Nature & Fun. There were a few that were slightly political, or at the very least my response to world events. This time there are a few more of those, so I have added a fifth group: World. Last time I started with Love. I don't like to repeat myself, so this time Nature comes first. What you may also have noticed is that the rhymes in these two books are more or less in chronological order. Thus, when visiting Nature or World you should be able to follow either the seasons, or the unraveling of time through news or important stories. As with the last book, I have once again added a brief introduction to many of the rhymes, setting the scene or explaining the inspiration behind it. If you've been paying attention to these little snippets of thought you will be building a picture of how I think. Don't panic - I'm not crazy - not yet anyway. Though that gives me another idea for a rhyme... One more thing before we get into the rhymes themselves - you might be wondering about the title of this book, "Below a Tree." Some of you will have already seen it, or even seen the rhyme that I tweeted from which that line came. Since my world is all about rhyme, I wanted to find a word that rhymed with poetry. You try. That was the best I could come up with, and it formed part of the following poem: I will have to grow a tree, So I can sit below a tree And really get to know a tree, Because it rhymes with poetry.
