Synopsis "Bad Hair Day: We Come in Peace (in English)"
Bad Hair Day This book is more about art then anything else. It's true that it is a comic book or maybe a graphic novel but I hope people will see the art. I started this project with a thought in my head and went right to paper. I started with the art first. I had the characters in mind and had drawn them many times. I know that the main characters were from outer space and had super powers. I knew that their powers were in their hair. The powers of fire and water seemed natural, but I added plant life. I thought because of title Bad Hair Day They should be women. Before I begin drawing that was all I new about my super hero's. I did not let that stop me, again I started to draw. Page by page an incredible story was being created right before my eyes. From my mind onto paper I was visually writing a story. I had no experience in drawing a comic book. I concentrated on my art and my imagination. Before long I had created a pretty good story line, all in pictures. Next I wanted to add words to my story book, but how? Do I add bubbles to my drawings, like a traditional comic book? I've read some graphic novels where they put the dialog at bottom of the page and decided that's what I'll do. It didn't take much time to realize that what I had drawn was way too much of story. That a few lines at the bottom a page would not be enough to tell the story of my pictures. I went page by page but wrote in long form. Perhaps the hardest thing for me was to type my hand written manuscript. I had some help and eventually got it done. Next I colored the art work and finally inked my project and I thought I was done. No need to bore anyone with all the time it took, after that point to get to this point, but the work had just begun. The Story The owner of Texas steak house says goodbye to three long time employees. The three young women had worked for him while attending college. Now with their studies done and jobs waiting back east, they leave the steak house and Texas behind. That, night while pondering his situation, the owner is startled by strange colored lights coming from the wooded area, in back of his restaurant. He takes his rifle and heads outside to investigate. The owner meets three alien women who come in peace. Who want to save our world from ourselves? They need T Bone, the steak house owner, to help with their plan. It takes some convincing but they get him join their team. The plan takes T Bone and the three alien women on a fantastic trip into the possibilities of our new found tech age. He learns what can happen when two or more of these technologies are blended together for something more than just video games. In the book our heroes face creatures from other worlds. They encounter a suspicious country sheriff. Who may put in end to their plan before the plan gets started. They become famous to hide their true identities. They discover a new form of space travel. There are space stations and nightclubs. There is a professor and a student. There is an army base and a creepy dark world. The beings from that dark world are hunters and killers, who wait eagerly to hunt earthlings, Art, adventure, and story make Bad Hair Day a book for fans of comic books and graphic novels. It is also a book for those who collect art books. To me; it is another piece of my art to share with you. Eli
