Den afrikanischen Kontinent haben wir erstmals bereits 2003 in Ägypten betreten. Dort interessierten wir uns für die altägyptischen Sehenswürdigkeiten und nahmen auch an einer Nil-Kreuzfahrt teil. Krokodile gab es im Nil schon lange nicht mehr. Die Angst vor dem Terrorismus war überall vorhanden. Diese Erfahrung gab uns den Mut, 2009 in das krisengeschüttelte Kenia zu reisen und dort im TSAVO EAST National Park auf unsere erste Safari zu gehen. Es war ein gro artiges Abenteuer. 2012 besuchten wir wieder Afrika - diesmal in Marokko mit ganz besonderen Erlebnissen in einem arabischen Kulturkreis. Dann kam 2015 für uns das besondere Highlight: Südafika. Auf einer Rundreise lernten wir alle Facetten Afrikas kennen.
