Synopsis "Antimikrobielle Aktivität, Zytotoxizität und Genotoxizität (in German)"

Prodigiosin, ein natürliches rotes Pigment, ist ein von Serratia marcescens produziertes Alkaloid und gehört zur Familie der Prodiginine, deren Pigmente drei zyklische Pyrrolringe in ihrer chemischen Struktur aufweisen. Dieses Pigment hat in den letzten Jahren aufgrund seiner biologischen Aktivitäten, die als antimikrobiell, antimalariamä ig und antitumorös beschrieben werden, ein wachsendes Interesse im medizinischen, pharmazeutischen und industriellen Bereich geweckt. In den letzten Jahren wurde die Suche nach Erkenntnissen über die zytotoxische Aktivität von Prodigiosin intensiviert, wobei zytotoxische Wirkungen in Tumorzelllinien wie Lunge, Dickdarm, Niere und Brust beschrieben wurden und eine geringe Toxizität in normalen Zellen beobachtet wurde. Die genotoxischen Wirkungen von Prodigiosin auf Zelllinien müssen jedoch noch besser erforscht werden. Aufgrund seines antitumoralen Potenzials und des Mangels an Beweisen für genotoxische Wirkungen zielte diese Studie darauf ab, die antimikrobielle Aktivität von Prodigiosin gegen pathogene grampositive und gramnegative Mikroorganismen, die zytotoxischen Wirkungen des Pigments auf Tumorzelllinien sowie die genotoxischen Wirkungen zu bewerten.
