Año 2112 Netstates. Las redes sociales se convierten en Estados... es la primera entrega de una serie de relatos que, a pesar de su carácter de ficción, intentan explorar nuevas posibilidades de desarrollo social utilizando los nuevos mecanismos de participación de las redes sociales. En esta “historia anticipada”, el narrador se sitúa en un momento posterior al desarrollo de la trama: en el año 2112 han desaparecido definitivamente los Estados territoriales y las redes sociales han asumido el poder político, permitiendo un grado de participación ciudadana nunca visto hasta entonces. Sin embargo, este nuevo sistema tiene que hacer frente a innumerables problemas, y los personajes del relato tendrán que resolver los retos que la nueva sociedad les va planteando.
