They concentrate largely on the period between 1740 and 1780, four decades notable for inter-discursive cross-fertilization between art theory, anthropology, and aesthetics. The articles explore the interrelations and/or differences between the ongoing discourses in cultural psychology, the history of mentality, and moral philosophy, situating them in the overall process of 'Enlightenment'.
