Abraham is an aging businessman. He lives on the Gold Coast in Chicago. One hot summer afternoon his wife Sarah tells him she is going to have a baby. Abraham assumes she is joking. Sarah insists otherwise, and to prove it five months later she delivers a baby boy as bald and wrinkled as his father. Isaac is a healthy child, Sarah a happy mother, Abraham a gruffly affectionate father.
