Synopsis "A Marine's Wife, A Battered Life: Dress Bruise (in English)"
October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month and Purple is the Domestic Awareness color. I'm thankful that God did not give us X-Ray Eyes, because if he did. Anyone that looked at me would have seen, my shattered heart, that all the Marine Corps Men could not have put it together again. The emotional and psychological trauma scrambled in my head as eggs; my intangible pain that draped my weary, achy body like water flowing from a waterfall. I found that GRAIN OF COURAGE the size of a MUSTARD SEED and an OUNCE OF STRENGTH that awarded me the DETERMINATION to say "No More and Walked Away." Seldom, did I contemplate suicide while being abused, I thought my Marine husband would beat me to Death! The cover face of the Marine is shaded differently because Abuse comes in All colors. The index finger pressed against the Marines' lips depicts a statement, do not tell, the 4's Shame, Silent, Secret, Shhh! The different style Chevrons and the Insignia worn on the chest represent Abuse comes in all Ranks. The Abused woman symbolizes she still has hope and is trying to hold on to her Abusive Marine; in between his legs/thighs even though the sexual assault humiliated her. The bandage outlines she is still trying to Dress Her Bruises! A percentage of the proceeds will support the Military Family Advocacy Programs and the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence.
