Adam Heathgrove has always loved Christmas. But at twenty, living at home with a baby boy of his own and his future becoming more uncertain by the day, he reaches out to the strange Mr. Hench to make some extra cash. He thinks he'll be assisting him in a paranormal investigation, but that clearly isn't the case when a man pulls a gun on him at the haunted house their searching. Trying to keep his side job a secret from his frightened fiancé Selena, he fails to realize the horror she's going through. Something is after her. Something that speaks from pitch and blinds her with nightmarish visions. After seeing a dark mass at her college choir concert, the ghost has been there, whispering to her in her sleep, tickling her spine while she walks. Around town, a family is being butchered. One by one, their father is coming after them. The mother; the daughter, the son. He stalks the town looking for the last one, for his ten year old daughter, to save her from the things worming within her brain. Lugging his axe. Needing to satiate the insidious voice within. And as Adam desperately tries to extract himself from the terrifying tale of vengeance his side job entails, the ghost reaches out to Selena for the last time. "Find the girl, save your husband."
