Synopsis "31 Days of Light: Study Guide: 1 John Study Guide (in English)"
The Book "31 Expressions of Love" is part of a series of verse by verse Bible studies produced by the 501(c)3 nonprofit corporation, Books for Ministry, and written by Bruce Hitchcock. It is the intent of Books for Ministry to accomplish two goals. The first goal is to provide quality Bible study materials as part of a structured, planned, spiritual growth program. God has commanded that we grow in Him. The apostle Peter echoes this command in 2 Peter 3:18, "but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory, both now and to the day of eternity. Amen." This verse is substantiated by the words of the author of Hebrews in Chapter 6, verse 1 which states, "Therefore leaving the elementary teaching about the Christ, let us press on to maturity."Discipleship is the process by which we obey this command. Jesus commanded in Matthew 28:18-20 to make disciples of all of the nations. He added the structure and material for that command by saying, "Teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you."We are to teach others to be like Jesus and we are to accomplish that by obey those commands ourselves and training others to do the same.The second goal is to provide these and other spiritual growth aids written by those who love Jesus with all their hearts, souls, and minds, to believers who desire to grow spiritual but cannot afford the cost of these materials.I believe that these two goals are worthy of our time, talent, treasure, and attention. Subsequently, this work and these services will ultimately honor and glorify the name of God which is a name above every name.
