Synopsis "2D nanomaterials: Chemiresisitive Gas Sensor (in English)"
The massive industrialization, rapid urbanization, growing usage of automobiles, consumption of fossil fuels, and organic chemicals causing air pollution globally. In recent two decades ecosystem has been suffering from the various effects of air pollution. Thus highly sensitive gas sensors are essential to monitoring toxic and combustible gases to assess the quality of air and safety requirements for industries. Recently, LDHs received much attention as low-temperature gas sensors. Among the various LDHs, Zn-Cr-LDH attracted wide attention in the gas sensor field due to its RT sensing ability.. Thus, three types of nanohybrids are designed to achieve this goal. In this regards two nanohybrids, Zn-Cr-LDH nanosheets hybridized with POW and iPOV anions were synthesized and used as a gas sensor. Similarly, in third, Zn-Cr-LDH nanosheets hybridized with negatively charged exfoliated HNb nanosheets were synthesized and used as a gas sensor. Further, the Zn-Cr-LDH and nanohybrids were utilized for the detection of Cl2 and SO2 gases.
